Covid-19: The Night New York Roared

A lot of beautiful and unexpected takes place in New York at any given moment but during this time of Covid, poignancy seems to be waiting at every corner.

At 7 PM each evening what is now a silent city turns up the volume. We shout, clang, whistle and clap appreciation for First Responders and Essential Workers.

I’m normally in my window as this wave of sound begins to build then crash all over the city and my neighborhood. The sound is echoing, piercing and distorted. It sounds like crazy love. It feels like an uprising.
